Joanna Sue Zeiger

Biography:


Joanna Sue Zeiger (born May 4, 1970 in Baltimore, Maryland) is an American athlete from California, who competes in the triathlon.

Zeiger's first sport was swimming. She attended Brown University and still (as of 2005) holds the school records in the 500 yard freestyle, 1000 yard freestyle, and 1650 yard freestyle which she set in 1991. Joanna received her PhD from The Johns Hopkins University's Bloomberg School of Public Health in 2001.

Competitive running and cycling were added to her repertoire in 1992 and 1993, respectively.

Olympics:

Zeiger competed at the first Olympic triathlon at the 2000 Summer Olympics. She placed fourth with a total time of 2:01:25.74. Her split times were 19:45.58 for the swim, 1:05:38.30 for the cyling, and 0:36:01.86 for the run.
