South African player active in the 60s who was on the S.A. Davis cup team and active in tournament play. A visitor tells us that at age 8 he saw Siegel at Wimbeldon and loudly shouted "look Mum, a Jewish tennis player!" He relates that his mother wanted the floor to open up at that moment.
Top 20 player in the 80s (got to as high as #18 in 1987). One of the best Israeli tennis players ever. Made the quarterfinals of the 1992 Australian Open. Retired at the end of 1994 season. Recently became the Israeli Davis Cup captain after the resignation of Shlomo Glickstein.
