Yael Arad

Yael Arad - In 1992, she became the first Israeli, of either sex, to win an Olympic medal. She won the silver medal in Judo and very narrowly lost out for the gold. She became and still is a national hero. Her performance in 1996 was affected by illness & she did not medal.
