    Famous sculptor who was born in Lithunia in 1893. Moved to France, where he established himself as one of the earliest and most important cubist sculptors. In the 30s his work became more baroque. He was forced to move to the United States in 1940. His later work often was inspired by Jewish or biblical themes. His sculpture "The Tree of Life" stands in front of the Haddasah hospital in Israel. His work is in most major museums. Died in 1973.
